Save Quogue was founded by a father-and-son team, David and Andrew Baris.

We come from different generations and have experienced Quogue in different ways, but we are united by a shared conviction: Village government must act more decisively to preserve Quogue’s historic character before the fabric connecting the Village to its past is permanently lost.

David’s connection to Quogue began through his wife, Missy, who grew up in the Village. Her grandfather, Arthur Lockett, settled in Quogue as a young man around the turn of the twentieth century.

Andrew has spent summers in Quogue since infancy and understood from an early age how fortunate he was to grow up in such a special place.

We both love Quogue. We are deeply troubled by the continued demolition of historic homes and the construction of new buildings that disregard the scale, character, and architectural traditions of the Historic District and its surroundings.

Quogue’s historic identity cannot be taken for granted. Once it is lost, it cannot be recreated.
